Dean Sorrento, DPM, is a double board-certified podiatric surgeon with a focus on advanced nerve decompression surgery, deformity correction, sports medicine, and the Lapiplasty® bunion procedure.
Dr. Sorrento earned his degrees from St. Joseph's University and Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, both in Philadelphia. He completed his training at the University of Pennsylvania, which offered the country's sole four-year residency at the time.
For the next nine years he was an assistant professor at Penn State University while practicing at a podiatric group he had co-founded. Dr. Sorrento continued teaching surgery at a local hospital during his thirteen-year partnership with the orthopedic group. After relocating to Florida, he spent a year in private practice in St. Petersburg before joining the team at Modern Foot & Ankle.
